Medication for Dementia-Related Agitation May Do More Harm Than Good

Dementia news: the antidepressant Mirtazapine (Remeron) is prescribed to treat agitation in individuals with dementia. However, a new study has shown that it is no more effective than a placebo, and it may be more associated with mortality than no treatment.
